Having Trouble Pressing On?
Hope for the Heavy Heart: For the War-Weary and the Heaven-Bent* is a collection of insights written initially for the author as to why and how Ellen could move forward following a devastating experience.
Ellen wrote them while living in an institution, having become physically disabled after some truly wild circumstances led to her near-fatal suicide attempt. However, just over three years later, she was dubbed, "Ellen of Joy" by a friend.
She credits her paraplegia for teaching her that just as we had no say in how we came into the world, we need to have no say in how we leave it, that our death is a most sacred passage that needs to be left in hands of God : the major premise of the book.
