New Book Coming Fall 2008
Hope for the Heavy Heart - For the War-weary and Heaven-bent

Having Trouble Pressing On?

Why not pick up Hope for the Heavy Heart?

Prolific author, artist, radio personality and quadriplegic Joni Eareckson Tada said in a letter addressed to Ellen:  “(T)he sweetness from the crushed flower of your life is so evident in your poetry near the back of Hope for the Heavy Heart. I’m keeping it on my desk so I can refer to your poems.”

Following a reading by Ellen of her poetry during a coffee house, youth said, “We could listen to this all night!” Lorna Dueck, host of Context, calls Ellen’s poetry “medicine for your soul.”

A collection of both poetry and prose, Hope for the Heavy Heart: For the War-Weary and the Heaven-Bent* offers insights originally written during a very dark time in the life of Ellen Richardson. She put this book together in order to find reasons why she should carry on and not give up. It helped her move forward; it can do the same for you.

Ellen’s trials taught her that just as we had no say in how we came into the world, we need to have no say in how we leave it, that our death is a most sacred passage that needs to be left in hands of God: also the major premise of the book.

*A REVISED EDITION of the prose and new all-poetry book are currently in the works.
